Christopher Paul McCrady "The Ultimate Male", 55, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, passed away on May 1, 2023, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, as a result of complications following a heart transplant. The KU medical team cared for him in the most remarkable way and the family of Christopher will forever be grateful. He was preceded in death by his father Howard McCrady and sister SueAnn Heinse, who he missed desperately. He leaves behind his loving wife Kristie, daughters Abby (Cody) Stromberg, Alexandra (Nathan) Tool, stepchildren (who loved him like a father) Emma Stackhouse, Grace Stackhouse, Jack Stackhouse, mother Irene McCrady, brothers Tim (Luiz) McCrady, Randy (Barb) McCrady, Thomas (Deb) McCrady and Scott (Lori) McCrady, sister Gina (Tim) Carlson and several nieces and nephews, who adored him. He also left behind friends, so many friends. Chris grew up in Bobtown and attended Hillcrest Elementary in between going fishing and hunting squirrels with his cousin Matt (Huff) McCrady. He wrestled and played football at North Junior High and he graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1986. During high school, he played football, where he was "pound for pound the toughest Dodger who ever played". After high school, he worked for rental companies doing what he loved, sales. On November 27, 1992, Chris married his high school sweetheart, Julie Axness (now Kruger). They later divorced. In 2003, he became an agent with American Family Insurance, where he worked for the rest of his life. Chris married Kristie Williams Stackhouse on October 21, 2017, after eight years of dating. The love they shared was like no other. Iowa State Football, gardening, his dog Zoey, and all of his kids were the things Chris most loved. If you'd like to honor Chris, become an organ donor or donate blood. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Holy Trinity Church with Msgr.
