Charyl Wheat-Colvin

Charyl K. Colvin, 64, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025 at her home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, October 25, 2025 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Charyl is survived by her sisters, Linda McDonald, Alice Wheat and Carolyn Wheat all of Fort Dodge; numerous nieces and nephews and other family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Calvinia (Dantzler) Wheat; husband, Sam Colvin; brother, Woodrow Wheat and sisters, Dannie Wheat, Martha Wheat, and Lillian Wheat; and special friend, John Carlisle.

Caryl Kaye Wheat was born May 29, 1961 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge; graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School. On April 1, 1990, she was united in marriage to Samuel Colvin and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. She worked for D & K Construction, Webster County Home, Mr. B's Bagels, Northwoods Living, and Iowa Central Community College. Charyl loved playing BINGO and getting her nails done. She was a fashionista who enjoyed having wigs that matched her lipstick color and outfit. She loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own and would always rub their ears. She was loved and will be deeply missed by so many.
