Chad Tracey, 51, of Otho passed away of natural causes at his home on Friday, January 2, 2026.
A vigil prayer service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2026 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at noon prior to the service at the funeral home.
Chad is survived by his daughter, Chloe; his mother, Coralie Tracey of Coalville; siblings, Angie (Scott) Kelley of Boone, Josh Tracey (Cristin) of Fort Dodge, and (Chad's Frank) Fran Duncan (Tom) of Boone; five nieces and nephews, whom he loved as if they were his own.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Tracey.
Chad William Tracey was born on May 15, 1974 in Fort Dodge. He attended area schools and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. Chad worked for Midwest Fence and Gate, Tracey Construction, and Nestle. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, motocross, watching his beloved Steelers lose, spending time with family and friends, and was known for his infamous Irish goodbyes.
Chad had the kindest soul. He was a generous and giving man with quiet strength and a tough exterior that hid a deeply compassionate heart. He would go without so others could have, never seeking recognition for his kindness. Even his greatest acts of generosity were done in silence. His legacy was one of selflessness, compassion, and quiet love. He had an impact on all who were fortunate enough to truly know him.
Memorials may be left to family discretion.
