Carl Christian

Carl Christian, 71, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2025 at the Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City.

A Celebration of Carl's life will be held at a later date.

Survivors include his daughter Tawnya and her husband Isreal of Webster City, son Chad Christian and his wife Jamie of Fort Dodge, grandchildren Paige Griffin of Webster City, Mikayla Griffin of Monroe, and Taylor Christian of Fort Dodge, great grandchildren Mia Willard, Leif Hanson, Wilder Hanson, and Maverick Bettazza, brother Claude Christian of Webster City, and his sister Marsha Severson Bergman of Stratford.

He was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Flossie (Poore) Christian.

Carl E. Christian was born on December 5, 1953 in Ieager, West Virginia. As a young child the family moved to Webster City, IA, where he was raised and educated. Carl graduated from Webster City High School in 1973. That same year he was united in marriage to Merri Askvig and the couple made their home in Webster City. To this union 2 children were born Tawyna and Chad. The couple were later divorced. Carl worked at Tasler Pallet in Webster City, Custom Meats, and most recently at North Central Turf and Landscaping where he retired from in 2016. Carl loved to be outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, or searching for mushrooms and asparagus. He enjoyed watching westerns and he would almost always have a Mountain Dew in his hand. Carl was an extremely hard worker his whole life and the kind of friend who do anything when asked of him. Carl will be missed by his family and friends.
