Barbara Gidel

Barbara Leah Gidel, 79 years old, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 6, 2025 at her home on Twin Lakes.

Barb was a daughter, Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother, Wife, Sister, Aunt, and most importantly a Child of God. Barb loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was devoted to sharing the Gospel. She was an Intercessor, Spiritual Warrior, Bible Scholar, Prophetic CWC Regional director, and an AGLOW International State President. Barb was committed to serve the Lord in many ways through worship, leadership, and constant prayer.

She was a director and teacher at Kings Kids Preschool which was a program she started at Oak Hill Church. Barb impacted many young lives through her God given talents and gifts and gave children an education rooted in knowing and loving Jesus. Barb was Faithful, Committed, Determined, Optimistic, and Encouraging. She was Healthy, Active, Creative, an Artist, Designer, and Musician. She was Generous, Loving, a Friend and Servant. She will be missed by many that love her. Barb was many things to many people, but in the eyes of God she would say, "I am third".

Philippians 3:8 "Yet, everything else is worthless when compared to the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus, My Lord."

"Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when Forget-Me-Nots have withered!" Carve your name on hearts, not marble.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Steven Gidel; children Chad (Dana) Gidel, Ryan (Heidi) Gidel, Niki Gidel, and Kari (Andy) Vitzthum; grandchildren, Cole, Bo, Taylor, Bryce (Brant) Hogue, Gabe, Bailey (Alex) Stephenson, Israel, Isaac, Hunter, and Tucker.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mildred (Hiler) Petersen.

A private family burial will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2025 followed by a public open house from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Twin Lakes Bible Camp. Laufersweiler's Palmer - Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family.
