Wilma Hair

Wilma I. Hair, 87, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, January 16th, 2020, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Private services will be held at a later date. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Eugene Hair of Fort Dodge, daughter Christine (Tom) Monahan of Farnhamville, son David (Denise) Hair of Brandon, SD, grandson Douglas (Amanda) Hair of Sioux Falls, SD, siblings Betty Smith, Richard Heggen, Peggy Jackson, Ilene Werner, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Roy Heggen, Virginia Tynan, and Donald Heggen. Wilma Irene Heggen, the daughter of Elof and Inga (Bergstrom) Heggen, was born on October 6, 1932 in Harcourt. She attended schools there and graduated from Harcourt High School in 1950. Wilma then attended and graduated from Tobin's Business College in Fort Dodge and began working at K.V.F.D. Radio as a secretary. On November 6, 1955, she was united in marriage to Eugene Hair and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. She was employed by Farm Bureau, Sears, and later the Fort Dodge Messenger. Wilma was an accomplished seamstress, terrific cook and baker extraordinaire. Many of her family and friends benefited from her gift of encouragement and from the many hours she dedicated to praying for them.
