Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 1, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years Beverly in Janesville, son Rick LaCaille and his wife Lara of Duluth, MN, and their daughters Tess and Harper, daughter Nancy Yildizer and her husband Kerem of Janesville, brothers Kenneth, Raymond, Terry (Lisa) LaCaille all of Fort Dodge, sister Joanie (Rick) Johnson of Fort Dodge, and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Mary (Higgins) LaCaille, daughter Ann Marie LaCaille, and sisters Mary Jane Lyon and Janice Musselman. William George LaCaille was born on October 21, 1943 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated here. In 1961, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1964. He returned to Fort Dodge where he met and fell in love with Beverly. On October 23, 1965 he was united in marriage to Beverly Myers and the couple made their home in the Fort Dodge area. Bill worked for Hormel in Fort Dodge until the plant closed in 1982 when the couple relocated to Janesville, WI, where he continued to work until his retirement. Bill was energetic with many interests and hobbies. His passion ran deep for the outdoors, and he was known by many as a fish whisper and skilled marksman, taxidermist, and wildlife artist. Nicknamed "Wild Bill" by his buddies for his demeanor on the golf course and fishing boat, he was an enthusiastic storyteller and quick to laugh. Bill had a clever mind for inventing and tinkering at his workbench, and his knowledge and love of old-time rock-n-roll was limitless. Beyond his many interests and activities, he was a loyal family man who would give you the shirt off his back without blinking an eye. His loss will be felt deeply by many. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Shekhani and the oncology staff at Mercyhealth for their care of Bill over the past few years.
