Shelly A. Nelson

GOWRIE Shelly A. Nelson, 60, died August 29, 2020 at Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge. A public visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2020 at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie. Private family services and burial will be at a later date. Shelly is survived by her husband, Randy; children, Emilie (Scott) Jenson of Algona; Trent (Katrina) Nelson of Newton, KS; grandchildren, Hannah; Avery; Amelia; mother, Barbara Campbell of Fort Dodge; siblings, Don Campbell of Fort Dodge; Pat (Jim) Peterson of Gowrie; Linda (Scott) Porter of Fort Dodge; Gary (Randi) Campbell of Hinton; Mike Campbell of Fort Dodge; and nine nieces and nephews; and two great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Campbell; in-laws, Duane and Opal Nelson and brother-in-law, Mick Nelson. Shelly A. Campbell was born February 11, 1960 in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1978. She then attended Buena Vista University and graduated in 1982. She was united in marriage to Randy Nelson on August 7, 1982. Shelly worked for Prairie Valley Schools for over 20 years, Gowrie Public Library for 10 years and was employed at Community Pharmacy as a pharmacy tech. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxillary Post #431. Memorials may be left to the ALS and Alzheimers Foundations.
