Ruth Vodraska

Our beautiful mother, Ruth Ann (McGough) Vodraska was carried home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning. She was blessed to be at her home that she shared with her daughter’s Trina, Janelle and their daughter Jordan. She was surrounded by her family that she loved and deeply cared for with all her heart. She had a strong relationship with God & unceasing faith. She was a “mother” to everyone who knew her, a heart with the capacity to love us all. She was the strongest, most gentle and giving woman that we are blessed to call mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her son Richard Fossell, parents Harold and Mary (McCreary) McGough, sisters Evelyn (Johnny) Ayala and Mary Catherine. Her sister-in-law Jeanne McGough, many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was the proud mother of Trina and Janelle McCreary, Teresa and Craig Savage, Sheri Vodraska, Mary Vodraska, and Tammy Cook. She was a loving grandmother to Ricky Fossell, Shelby (Chris) Fossell, Jordan McCreary, Kyle Savage, Alex (Jade) Savage, Nick Savage, Jack Savage, Dylan (Mackenzie) Vodraska, Shyra Vodraska, Ari (Shantavia) Vodraska, Bradley Vodraska, Tori (Isaiah) Cook, and four great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her beloved brothers and sisters Leo McGough, Marlene Ewing, Pauline (Patrick) Donahoe, Harold (Thelma) McGough, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

We love her deeply and will miss her forever.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of her family.

Services will be Monday, February 12, 2024, at Holy Trinity Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., a rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 6:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Corpus Christi Cemetery.
