Paul F. Whittington, 90, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Fort Dodge Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 20th 10:00 AM at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy, officiating. A visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM all at the funeral home. Paul is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Whittington of Fort Dodge; sons, Thomas and his wife Joan of Banning, CA; daughter, Judy Le Norman and her husband, Mike of Trophy Club, TX; daughter-in-law, Cherri Whittington of LaPorte City, IA; six grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Johanna (Kearney) Whittington; son, William "Bill" Whittington; and his brother, John Whittington. Paul F Whittington was born October 25, 1926 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated in Fort Dodge. In 1944, Paul enlisted in the US Army serving during WWII. On November 11, 1950 Paul was united in marriage to Anna Mae Katnik at Corpus Christi Church. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Paul worked at Leighton Supply and EMC for 30 years. He loved older cars, enjoyed wood working and even built a grandfather clock for each of his children and also constructed his own home that the family has lived in for over 60 years. He retired from EMC in 1988. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and the V.F.W. Post 1856. Memorials may be left to Unity Point Hospice.
