Kelley Marie Monson

Kelley Marie Monson, 55, of Gowrie passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Brian Feller officiating. Burial will be at Gowrie Township Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Church and Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family. Kelley Marie Carlson was born March 21, 1966 in El Cajon, California to Rex and Mary (Bemrich) Carlson. With her family as a young girl they moved to Callender. She graduated Prairie Community High School in 1984. She attended Iowa Central Community College. On August 20, 1985 she was united in marriage to Brad Monson and the couple made their home in Gowrie. Together they had two children, Taylor and Kaycee. Kelley owned and operated Calico Curl in Gowrie, she later went to work for La James for several years, and Goodwin Insurance in Farnhamville. Kelley and Brad loved their motorcycle rides. But above all, Kelley loved time spent with her grandchildren. Kelley is survived by her children Taylor (Erin) Monson of Fort Dodge, Kaycee (Cody) Carlson of Gowrie, grandchildren Autumn, Abi, Ellie, Brynlee, brothers Matt (Cyndee) Carlson of Fort Dodge, Brad (Tanya) Carlson of Spencer, and Larry (Melisa) Carlson of Gowrie. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Brad in September of 2020. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
