Juanita M. Lorentzen

GOWRIE Juanita M. Lorentzen, 99, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Pearl Valley Rehab and Nursing in Gowrie. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 at the United Methodist Church, Gowrie with Pastor Susan Rohden officiating. Burial of casket will be in the Gowrie Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 (noon) Friday until service time at the church. Palmer Funeral Home of Gowrie is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include son, Philip (Paula) Patton of Cedar Falls, 2 granddaughters, Noelle and Elise; step-grandchildren, Linda, Steve, and David. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Olivia (Stewart) McIntyre; husbands, Rudolph Patton and Earl Lorentzen; step-son and step-daughter-in-law Bill and Nancy Lorentzen; sisters, Marie Abram and Wilma Maddison. Juanita M. McIntyre was born on February 22, 1920 in Linton, Indiana and graduated from Linton High School. She attended the Institute of Technology in Los Angeles, CA. Juanita was united in marriage to Dr. Rudolph Patton on March 17, 1946. They lived in California. Dr. Patton passed away in August of 1949. On December 26, 1955, she was united in marriage with Earl Lorentzen of Gowrie. Earl passed away in February 1, 1976. Juanita worked as a postal clerk in Gowrie, a buyer for Ladies Ready to Wear Store in Sheldon and retired as Director of the Sarah Porter Beckwith (PEO) home in Mt. Pleasant, IA. Juanita was a member of the United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the P.E.O. Chapter Original in Mt. Pleasant. Memorials may be left for the Salvation Army.
