Janet A. Decker

Gowrie Janet A. Decker 87, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at her home. A Celebration of Life will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022 (PLEASE NOTE DATE) at the Heartland Bank Community Room in Gowrie. Graveside Services will be at a later date in Lost Grove Township Cemetery, near Harcourt. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is serving the family. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Janet is survived by her daughter Lynne Decker of Gowrie; sons, Alan (Pam) Decker of Callender, and Rob Decker of Gowrie; grandchildren, Chad (Tammy) Grove, Heidi (Ronny) Lennon, Heath (Tasha) Decker, Ashley (Cody) Decker, Jenny (Drew) Baker, and Jeremy (Sara) Decker; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother Clayton Holmstrom; and sisters, Frances Bothel, and Nona Holmstrom. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles; her parents, Harold and Berniece (Oldheime) Holmstrom, and Grace Holmstrom; sisters, Bev and Sandra; and brothers, Earl and Dennis. Janet A. Holmstrom was born February 14, 1935 at Dayton, Iowa. She attended school in White Bear, Minnesota. On August 27, 1955 she was united in marriage to Charles Decker at Harcourt. Janet worked at Lindstrom Thrift Shop, Strawberry Junction, and Lizer Sale Barn. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Gowrie, and American Legion Auxiliary.
