James Peterson

James "Jim" E. Peterson, 80, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 at his home. A prayer service will be 1:30 PM Friday, March 24, 2023 in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. James is survived by his daughters Dr. Jacqlyn (Rick) Diana and their children Mason, Myles, and Peyton and Michelle Peterson and her children Ashley and Kylie and a great grandson Chase, siblings Eleanor Halligan, William Peterson, Karol Holmes, Margaret McDermott, Olive Cooper, Mary Vonnahme, and Don Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents Tanner and Malvina (McLaughlin) Peterson, siblings Tanner Peterson, Karen Bruce, and John Peterson. James Ernest Peterson was born December 18, 1942 in Fort Dodge. He grew up on the family farm near Moorland and attended area schools. He graduated from high school and eventually owned and operated an auto repair business in Fort Dodge. Jim loved to visit his family and enjoyed fishing and hunting trips to Canada.
