James Allen Dahl

James A. Dahl, 52, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday June 7, 2021, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday June 16, 2021 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Jim is survived by his wife Melissa; son, James Dahl of Fort Dodge; father, John Dahl of Livermore; sisters, Gina Dahl of Davenport and Brenda Dahl of Livermore; mother and father-in-law, Paulette and John Peterson of Fort Dodge; brothers-in-law, John (Michelle) Peterson of Webster City and Brian (Robin) Peterson of Troutsdale, OR; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Alice (Schriber) Dahl; his grandparents, several uncles, aunts and cousins. James Allen Dahl was born September 14, 1968 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools in the Bode area and finished his education from Twin River Valley High School. On September 19, 1992 he was united in marriage to Melissa Peterson in Humboldt. The couple established their home in Badger until they moved to Fort Dodge in 2005. Jim worked for R&J Material Handling. He was an avid hunter and gun enthusiast. He enjoyed cooking everything he hunted. He had a passion for smoking meat and sharing it with friends and family. James enjoyed everything with a motor. He even built cross country four wheel racing machines and was so proud to be a three time winner of the Maxxis twelve hour of ATV America Utility Class. James also enjoyed drag racing his Nova and especially his motorcycle at North Iowa Dragway. He cherished his family and they him. He was a wonderful husband, father, son and friend. He will be missed by all that knew him. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
