Harper Maier, 9, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Monday, July 25, 2022 at Holy Trinity Church. A visitation will be 2:30 to 5:30 PM Sunday at the church. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family. Harper Lynn Maier was born December 9, 2012. Harper was preparing for 4th grade at Saint Edmond Catholic School. Her favorite things were riding her dirt bike with her dad and brother, staying up late playing with toys at sleepovers, and pretending to be a mermaid with her friends in her swimming pool. Harper loved to dance and cheer and was looking forward to starting a new season of competitive dance on team Lightning at United All Stars. Harper will always be remembered for her compassion for others and ability to make friends with anyone she met. Harper had a love for horses that she shared with her grandfather, Dick. She enjoyed gardening with her gigi, Sue, and cooking with her grandma, Brenda. Some of Harper's favorite memories were made on vacation at Lake Okoboji boating around the lake with her grandpa Steve. Harper loved to go shopping and was always up to a trip to Target with her mom. Harper was the BEST big sister to her little brother Wesley and baby sister Emmersyn. Harper was wise beyond her years and the memory of her sparkling smile and bubbly personality will forever be cherished. Harper was loved beyond what words can express and will leave a hole in the hearts of her parents Chelsea and Teddy forever. Harper is survived by her parents Teddy and Chelsea (Axness) Maier, brother Wesley, sister Emmersyn, grandparents Dick and Sue (Fishel) Maier of Fort Dodge, Steve (Kathy Peterson) Axness of Fort Dodge and Brenda (Yetmar) and Dave Swank of Rockwell City, uncles Ben (Ashley Jaeschke) Maier of Fort Dodge, cousins Ikia and Ozden, Josh (Christine) Axness of Davenport, Justin Axness of Fort Dodge, and aunts Brandy Maier of Urbandale, cousins Lourdes (Sam) and Milan, and aunts Marci (Chris) Bowden of Cedar Rapids, Abby (Colin) Eagan of Cedar Falls, and Sadie (Scott) Drees of Marion. In lieu of flowers and plants please consider donations to the Maier family for a memorial for Harper at Saint Edmond.
