Frances L. Wubben, 99, of Fort Dodge, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2020, at her daughter Nancy's home. A celebration of Frances' life will be held Friday September 4th at 4:00 PM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Buffalo Center. Visitation will be on Friday at beginning at 3:00 PM in at the church. Frances L. Berryhill was born sixth of 11 children on May 5, 1920, on a farm near Buffalo Center. She was raised and educated there and graduated from Buffalo Center High School in 1937. She then went on to earn her teaching certificate and taught for several years. On September 3, 1941, she was united in marriage to John S. Wubben near Popejoy, IA, and the couple established their home on a farm near Woden. In 1952, they moved to a farm near Buffalo Center where they farmed in the area until they retired in 1978. In 2002, the couple moved to Fort Dodge. Frances was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and a longtime resident of Friendship Haven. Frances was a compassionate friend to all. She was a joy to be around with her wit and stories, many in writing and all with some humor. She loved children and was a consummate teacher. She kept busy with projects, quilting, gardening, games and puzzles. She loved God and her family above all. Survivors include sons Wayne and his wife Kim of Leland, IA, Alan and his wife Marcia of Forest City, IA, daughter Nancy Hamilton and her husband Craig of Fort Dodge, grandchildren Michael Wubben, Mark (Katie) Wubben, Melissa Wubben (Barry Ulberg), Chad Wubben, Claudia Johnston (Matt), Emily Hamilton (Jason Kehoe), Andrea DeJong (Jonathan), step-grandchildren Randy Boeckholt (Laura), Alan Boeckholt (Judy), Brandon Ochoa and Natasha Ochoa, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, brother Dr. Leroy Berryhill and his wife Meredith of Fort Dodge, sister Edith Andrews of Coralville, sisters-in-law Linda Berryhill and Emma Knapper, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Aaron "Wayne" and Iva (Orr) Berryhill, husband, John S. Wubben, in 2006, son Warren "Willie" Wubben, step granddaughters Victoria (Marty) Jutting and Sandra Boeckholt, brothers Irvin, Boyd, Alan, Gerald and Clinton Berryhill, sisters, Ada Wubben, Marian Smith and Glenda Evans, daughter-in-law Dorothy Wubben. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.
