Eugene Ira Hair

Eugene I. Hair, 93, of Fort Dodge passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Private family services will be held. Laufersweiler-Sievers is serving the family. Eugene is survived by his daughter, Christine (Tom) Monahan of Farnhamville, son David (Denise) Hair of Brandon, SD, grandson, Douglas (Amanda) Hair of Sioux Falls, SD He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Josephine (Anderson) Hair and his wife Wilma Hair earlier this year. Eugene Ira Hair was born December 31, 1926 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1945. Eugene then served in the US Army from June 1, 1945 to October 31, 1946. Upon his honorable discharge he moved back to Fort Dodge and while attending drafting school went to work for Griffith Architects where he worked for over 23 years. On November 6, 1955 he was united in marriage to Wilma Heggen and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Eugene also worked for Hersom Construction for 5 years and spent the rest of his career retiring at the age of 82 with more than 19 years at Allers Associates Architects, PC. Eugene loved his family and the time he was able to spend with each and every one of them.
