Eleanor A. Arndt

Eleanor A. Arndt, 85, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Eleanor is survived by her son, Donald Arndt of Norcross, GA; son, Dale (Cindy) Arndt of Omaha, NE; daughter, Cynthia (Tom) Miller of Stillwater, MN; son, Richard (Cindy) Arndt of Jackson, GA; son, Terry (Tammy) Arndt of Burlington, ND; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; and brothers, Harold (Lois) Rost of Fort Dodge and Merle (LaVonne) Rost of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Therese (Wendt) Rost and her husband, Lester C. Arndt. Eleanor (Rost) Arndt, daughter of Roger and Therese Rost was born on February 24, 1932 in rural Manson. She was raised and educated in the Rinard area. In November of 1948, Eleanor was united in marriage to Lester C. Arndt in Pomeroy. In 1954, the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. On April 2, 1988, Eleanor remarried Lester Arndt at the Baptist Church in Fort Dodge. Eleanor worked outside of the home after her children were raised. She worked for Younkers for 10 years as the Office Manager before retiring in 1992. She has been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church since 1954. Memorials may be left to St. Paul's Lutheran Church and to the discretion of the family.
