Doris D. Stoolman

Rockwell City Doris D. Stoolman 98, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Shady Oaks Care Center, Lake City. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City, with Rev. B.J. Ukena officiating. Burial of casket will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the funeral home. Doris is survived by her children, Dennis (Barb) Yeazel of Granger, Sharon (Tim) Glasnapp of Rockwell City, Lowell (Peg) Stoolman of Rockwell City, Dale (Pat) Stoolman of Lino Lakes, MN, and Harlan (Donna) Stoolman of Yuma, AZ; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband Cloyde Yeazel; second husband Earl Stoolman; her parents, Hugh and Nola (Sturm) Huston; step-daughter Janice Prokop; and brother Earl Huston. Doris Darline Huston was born June 2, 1920 at Rockwell City, Iowa. She attended country school at Elm Grove #1 and graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1937. On June 29, 1940 she was united in marriage to Cloyde Raymond Yeazel at Rockwell City and two children were born to this union, Dennis and Sharon. Cloyde passed away in 1969. On June 5, 1971 she was united in marriage to Earl Raymond Stoolman, and he passed away in 1976. Doris was employed for several years as a nurses aide at Sunny Knoll Care Centre. In 1977, she worked as an office assistant for Dr. Paul Underriner Optometry until her retirement in 1994. She maintained her own home until becoming a resident of Shady Oaks Care Center in February of 2018. Doris enjoyed embroidery, quilting, and crossword puzzles.
