Delores L. (Dee) Johnson, 91, of Fort Dodge passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Simpson Health Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church will Rev. Matthew Martens officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church. The Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Delores is survived by her son, Scott (Dina) Anderson of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Jacob and Elizabeth Anderson of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; nieces and nephews; stepchildren and step-grandchildren, Thomas, Helen, Thomasina and Cleo of Stevens Point, Wisconsin; Beth, Samil, Serra and Mert Sermet of Ames, Iowa; Lucy and Ken Perrine of Wilsonville, Oregon; Dan Johnson of New York, New York; and Sue Anne, Scott, and Aria Lee also of New York. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Eric and Christine (Peterson) Gilbert; husband, Clarence T.V Johnson; sisters, Dorothy Jamieson and Bernice Scherff; brothers, Norval and Lawrence Gilbert; and son, Dr. Mark Anderson. Delores was born April 26, 1922 in Fort Dodge. She went to school at the Fort Dodge public schools and graduated in 1940. She immediately began employment with the Fort Dodge Telephone Company and was a long time employee of the local telephone companies. Delores retired from the Centel Company in 1984. She enjoyed volunteering at Grace Lutheran Church, working with the tape ministry, she was a part of a sewing group and was a member of the Mary Circle. Delores was also active in the 1940 class reunions committee, the Centel Retirees Group, and the game of bridge was also a challenge she enjoyed. Memorial may be left in the discretion to the family.
