Our loving father, grandfather, and husband, Dan (Papa) Charles Brighi of Fort Dodge, passed away on August 30, 2022, at the age of 76. Dan is survived by his loving wife Giomaida (Yomi) Martinez Brighi, his 4 daughters, Tammy (Chris) Guches of Houston, Texas, Gina (Ron) Christian of Laguna Beach, California, Michelle (Brent) Johnson of Dallas, Texas, Joann (Jamie) Bierl of Clive, Iowa, sister Keya (Dean) Erb of Gowrie, Iowa, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Carlo and Dolores (Saeger) Brighi, daughter Marilyn Brighi, and brother Michael Brighi. Dan Charles Brighi was born on May 5, 1946, in Fort Dodge where he attended school at Sacred Heart and Fort Dodge Senior High School. Dan graduated from Iowa Central Community College in Auto Mechanics. Dan was an entrepreneur proudly serving Fort Dodge as an auto mechanic and used car dealership for 25 years. For the past 23 years, Dan and Yomi operated a local consignment shop, Yomi's Hidden Treasures. Dan was an incredible, faith-driven man that made everyone feel special and provided unconditional love to his family. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, from 1967 to 1968. While stationed in Panama, he met his beautiful bride to be, Yomi. Their 51 year marriage was filled with love, kindness, and laughter. He was a humble man and a great storyteller. Dan always listened intently and provided advice with impeccable timing and wisdom. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace. A visitation will be on Friday September 9th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, September 10th at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the United States Army Honor Guard and the VFW Post 1856. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
