Christine A. Ellis

Rockwell City - Christine "Chris" A. Ellis 65, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. Due to the pandemic and the familys desire to keep everyone safe, services will be at a later date in 2021, with burial at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Rockwell City. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family. Christine Ann Ellis was born May 22, 1955 in Lake City, Iowa. She graduated from Manilla High School and continued her education for nursing at Iowa Western Community College where she received her LPN. Chris married her soul mate, Robert Dean Ellis in October 20, 1984. She worked at Opportunity Living for 31 years. Chris loved being a nurse and caregiver to the residents over the years. She often said it was her calling in life to be a mother and a nurse. Chris loved spending time with her husband Dean, daughters, family and furry babies. You could always find her working on her next crafting project. Crocheting scarfs, dog sweaters, blankets and making flower arrangements for people were some of her favorite craft hobbies. She loved spending time outside in her garden and planting flowers. She also had a passion for reading and never left the house without a book. Chris will be remembered as a loving, selfless woman who left a bit of her light with everyone she came in contact with.
