Brendon P. (Passow) Nicholas, 36, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021. He was born on June 24, 1985, in Des Moines, IA, and was raised and educated in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 2003. Brendon was united in marriage to the love of his life, McKenzie Shelp on September 15, 2012. The love that he had for McKenzie, and their two children, Delilah (7) and Kalem (5), was immeasurable; they were truly the light of his life. Brendon was the epitome of a family man; spending the majority of his time with them. Whether it was watching football, grilling up delicious meals, making giant snow piles in the winter for sledding, reading bedtime stories every night, or giving huge underdogs on their family swing set, he was always there for them. In addition to spending time with his family, Brendon had a true passion for the outdoors. He could be found hiking in the woods with his family, foraging for mushrooms, teaching the kids how to track animals, or hunting with his Redbone Coonhounds; he definitely lived 'Country Life' to the fullest. Brendon made many friends in the hunting community, as well as in his cigar club. He also had a big sweet tooth, and was especially fond of a good bowl of ice cream. For several years, Brendon managed Frank's Auto and Truck Salvage, and was currently employed with Georgia Pacific. Brendon is survived by his wife McKenzie of Fort Dodge, their children Delilah and Kalem, mom Doreen Passow (Denny Frank) of Fort Dodge, sister Heather Nicholas Chada of Algona, brothers Shawn (Amber) Passow of Farnhamville, Blaine Passow, Joseph Passow and Kyler Passow, all of Fort Dodge, mother and father-in-law Cindy and Tom Shelp of Auburn, sister-in-law Tanya Shelp of Carroll, and step brothers Mitch and Jeremy Frank both of Fort Dodge. Brendon was incredibly loved and will be deeply missed by all.
