Edith Mae (Brown) McEntee - 92, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Marian Home.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2nd in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 2:00 p.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Rev. Shane Deman officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Mitchell, SD.
Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where there will be a vigil at 7:00p.m. ALSO
A visitation will be held at the Will Funeral Home in Mitchell, SD from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday
Surviving are her sons, Francis of Canton, SD, Kenneth of Wagner, SD, Michael of Sioux Falls, SD, John of Fremont, CA; daughters, Jean Nagle of Tulsa, OK, Mary Margaret Breler of Omaha, NE, Elizabeth Woods of Grandby, CO, Kathy Jo Hansen of Omaha, NE, Valerie Warren of Gladbrook, IA; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Alice (Heisler) Brown; her husband, Francis (Frank); a son, Mark; 3 sisters; and 1 brother.
Edith Mae Brown was born November 7, 1917 in Sioux City, Iowa. She began her early education in Morningside then moved with her family to Mitchell, SD where she attended Notre Dame Academy and graduated from High School in 1935. She then attended Notre Dame Junior College for 2 years. On July 25, 1939 she was united in marriage to Francis (Frank) McEntee at Holy Family Church and they made their home on a farm near Mitchell. While living in Mitchell, Edith was a homemaker and did bookkeeping for her husband’s business. In 1995 they moved to Fort Dodge.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, the Altar Society, was a member of the prayer group at Holy Family Church, the Never Idle Club for over 30 years, and was a member of the Research Club, all in Mitchell, SD.
