| | Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 15th in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. | | Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. | | Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where there will be a rosary at 5:30 p.m. and a vigil at 7:00 p.m. | She is survived by her husband Jim; children, Jeff (Aimee) of Roseville, MN, Sue (Bruce) Light of Gowrie, IA, Sandy (Curt) Sloan of Center Point, IA, Mitch (Anne) of Center Point, IA, Anne (Tony) Dailey of Fort Dodge, IA; grandchildren, Megan and Kevin Light, Nick and Hannah Sloan, Haley and Abbey Weideman, Stephanie and Allison Dailey; sister, Hazel of Redfield, IA; brother, Arnold of Redfield, IA; sister-in-law, Vi Gill of Fort Dodge; nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Evelyn Whitney, and a son, Greg.
Dora C. Whitney was born July 7, 1922 in Linden, Iowa. She attended schools in Redfield and graduated from Redfield High School in 1939. Dora then moved to Des Moines where she attended Business School at AIB. Following her education, Dora worked at Retail Credit Company for 15 years. Dora was united in marriage to James Weideman on February 11, 1956 in Des Moines. They made their home in Des Moines until 1959, when they moved to Fort Dodge.
Dora was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and the Rosarians.
