Laufersweiler Funeral Home is proud of our heritage. We've had the honor of serving families in the Fort Dodge and surrounding communities since 1856...over 145 years! Currently the funeral home is owned and operated by the fourth and fifth generations of Laufersweilers, and is the oldest family owned funeral home in the State of Iowa. We are in our third location and have been at 307 South 12th Street since 1952.

My great grandfather, Conrad Laufersweiler, founded the funeral home in 1856. In 1979, I purchased the funeral home from my father, Welch Laufersweiler, and became the fourth generation of Laufersweilers to serve this area. My nephews, Mark and Luke Laufersweiler, have both graduated from Mortuary School and are active partners in the business.

As we've grown, we've tried to give the same care to your family, as we would want given to our own. Our dedication has allowed us to help families cope during the most difficult times of their lives. It is our hope that this web site will provide you with the answers to questions you may have about our funeral home, the funeral planning process, or about the many services we can provide.
